Product Description
Heavy Tungsten Alloy Shields are made from a tungsten matrix (typically 80 to 98 percent tungsten) with small amounts of nickel, iron, copper, cobalt, molybdenum, chromium and other elements. The density of super gravity tungsten alloy is up to 15.20~18.70g/cm3, which is also known as super gravity tungsten alloy or high density alloy material. Because tungsten alloys weigh more than twice as much as steel.

Tungsten alloy has a series of excellent properties, high specific gravity: general specific gravity 16.5-18.75g/cm3, high strength: tensile strength 700-1000mpa, strong light absorption capacity: 30-40% higher than the general lead ratio, high thermal conductivity: mold is 5 times of steel; Low thermal expansion coefficient: only 1/2-1/3 of steel, good electrical conductivity, good welding and cutting performance.
A common method of preparing heavy tungsten alloys is to mix the desired amount of tungsten, iron, nickel or copper powder and then cold press and liquid phase sintering to near full density. In the liquid phase treatment, the base tungsten alloy melts, part of the tungsten enters the solution to form microstructure, and a large number of tungsten particles (20-60m) are dispersed in the base alloy.
Heavy-duty tungsten alloy syringes are ideal for shielding X-rays and X-ray gamma rays. High density tungsten shielding (60% higher than lead).
Heavy tungsten alloy shielding is mainly used in collimator, FDG container, multi-plate collimator, nuclear shielding, beam shielding, vial shielding, PET syringe shielding, isotope container and other fields.
